Canadian Armed Forces cap badges are distinctive symbols that are modern Canadian heraldry. Metal and embroidered cap badges are distinctive symbols that visually identify a military unit, build pride, and establish continuity – all necessary for the success of command.
William Scully Ltd. is one of the most prolific Canadian badge manufacturers of the last 150 years. Much of the original artwork for the Canadian regimental and branch badges comes from this firm. We invite your review of our Gallery and the albums titled ‘’Original Badge Designs’’.
William Scully Ltd. manufactured badges for the Department of Militia and Defence in the days of single services going as far back as the Boer War. Over the past century, many of these badges, with their old devices and mottoes, often received new frames, and yet some land force badges have never changed. Some are new badges since unification, and recently some units have returned to earlier unit badges. William Scully Ltd. has played an integral and consistent role throughout in maintaining tradition while evolving the Canadian military badge.
